what is a better decision a savage combo or remington combo or mossberg combo or … What can i get for $500?

i am getting to know more and more about rifles and how the more money invsted usually gives a better rifle. that cheap $500 dollars is what i have and i would like to have a do able rifle for hunting season and some spare money for reloading equipment. give your advice on the product you would recomend for both reloading equiment and rifles( with scope puchase on or off the rifle) or do you think i should wait till next hunting season with 1200 dollars. thanks
any suggestions for ammo if i were to get the 300 win mag savage 111fcxp3?

When you buy the combo deal with the Savages and Remingtons the weak link is the scope. If you think the scope will do what you need it to do for as long as you need it to do it, then either would work well. I’ve got an old Tasco 3×9 50mm on my Browning and I still like it enough to not want to replace it. I’m not saying anything disparaging about the Mossberg Combos, the Mossberg just doesn’t meet my expectations like the others do. I’ve seen both Rem and Savages at WalMart below $500 for combo. Just stay away from the 770 Remington, it isn’t a good way to waste money.
Reloading kit from RCBS is $290 for the very solid Rock Chucker Master reloading kit, would make an excellent starting point. the previous kits used the Pardner press and the Chucker is a lot better.
If you choose to get a rifle and separate scope the Nikon Pro Staff or Leupold Rifleman type scopes would be a good start, although I have heard good things about the Barska economy scopes. you can spend a lot on scopes, but stay basic and don’t go for the BDC and Mil-Dot types, more stuff to get in the way.
