At what age is it legal to purchase weapons in Canada.?

I live in ontario and I see that most stores I commonly by hunting supplies skinning knives, etc. have an age restriction of 19 (Although I’ve never been asked for Id), I am interested in ordering some more weapons online and before I do I was wondering if anyone could clarify if this is a law or just store policy.

19 years old and above is the age allowed under the law to buy and possess guns.
